How To Remove Press On Nails

Removing your press on nails should take you less than 20 minutes and if done properly won't damage your natural nails! This method works for both sticky tab and nail glue applications and is gentle enough that you can reuse your press on nails!

You Will Need:

  • A bowl (large enough to soak both your hands in)
  • Washing up liquid/dish soap
  • Any oil you have on hand (olive oil, coconut oil, even vegetable oil!)
  • An orange wood stick/cuticle pusher
  • Warm water

How to Soak off Your Nails:

  1. Start by filling your bowl with warm water, the warmer the better but be careful not to make it too hot!
  2. Add a squeeze of washing up liquid and a few tablespoons of oil to the warm water and give it a mix (The more you add the faster I've found this process works, so you can add more if you like!).
  3. Soak your hands in the bowl for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Use the orangewood stick to very gently try to lift off the press on nails from the cuticle.
  5. If they do not come off easily then re-soak the nails. You may want to add some more warm water to your mixture to make sure the temperature is still warm enough!
  6. Repeat until all of your nails have popped off.
  7. Use a buffing block to gently buff any excess glue off your nail beds and you're done! (If you used sticky tabs they should just peel off).

Remember to keep your press on nails, you can buff or file the glue from the back of them and then reuse them again in future!

I've also made a video on how to remove your press on nails on my YouTube channel which I've left below incase you find it helpful!
